Anniversary Weekend

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend for our anniversary. First, on Friday night, we had a wonderful dinner from a local burger joint with a large soda, some fries and fried zucchini, a bacon burger, and a grilled cheese with tomatoes for the wife all while watching "Titanic". I have forgotten it won all those Oscars! Do you remember how many? Well, since it has gotten cooler out here (on average of being 50 degrees or cooler) we needed some warm sweaters. So, we made sure to go to the outlet stores out here and purchase some sweaters and of course Melissa got a few sweaters (you should ask her how many?). To finish the great weekend we had taco night on Saturday, and delicious lobster bisque from Costco and a wonderful spread from Trader Joe's. We look forward to our real anniversary getaway in December.

Over the weekend, we have been saying how truly blessed we are to have jobs, especially in this economy and health wise. Remember to take each day as a blessing! What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Below is a picture of a dish that Melissa made last week. The sweet potatoes were part of a new recipe...using cinnamon and brown sugar. They were incredibly good, and worth sharing on the blog!

O.C. Friends

We had another great weekend with our wonderful friends James and Kari. They are both a wonderful couple and loved having them. Well, before they came Jeremiah had to volunteer to work on the Friday night by watching over 200 students at Burton Middle School at a school dance and feeding them food and escorting them to a movie at 10 pm. After the dance, the school decided that the students should stay on the school bus for at least an hour waiting for the movie to start (a great idea, especially since they were on a sugar high). Well, luckily, we only live 5 minutes from the school, so Jeremiah got home around 1:40 a.m.

Now, back to the great time we had with James and Kari. We call it "Tour A" for our first time visitors to Porterville. It includes the highlights of Porterville, which is our two major streets, and everything outside of Porterville like seeing Hanford for the ice cream and going to Visalia, the city. Now, if you have already been here once then get ready for "Tour B" which includes going grocery shopping with us (our highlight of the week!)
