Sequoia Park with the Weinbergs

Sit Fest, Eat Fest, and Wait Fest all in one day. Imagine driving 3 1/2 hours to go to Porterville, then drive another 1 45 minutes all to see a tree and all throughout the day we had to wait. Although Debby and Ron got to relax in the car with tons of food. All of us that day were continually waiting, such as this light saying we had to stop for 20 minutes because of road construction. When we finally arrived to the park, we had to wait for buses to take us to destinations. The park was quite packed with people wanting to see General Sherman Tree, but everyone had to wait. After eating lunch at 4:00 at Lodgepole, we took another bus to walk down the hill to the tree, but as soon as we got off we found out the walk way was closed due to the ice on the ground. (Yes, the park was still filled with snow at least 4 feet high) So, we waited to take another bus down the hill, but it needed to make 3 more stops before dropping us off. Suffice to say we made it to the destination of the tree with 20 minutes to spare before the park was closing.

We did take some time to take some pictures. Hey, where are the dogs? Looks like it is going to be a great Christmas in June from the looks of this picture.

The walk through tunnel log. We had to pay the parents to smile for this picture due to the 6 1/2 trip all to see the tree. Just kidding! They were absolutely wonderful.

I don't know if we have a picture of us standing in front of General Sherman. If not, here it is. We had to put our sunglasses on because we were so tired. I hope you like the beard! I am growing it out.

The Dog Beach!

ly Last weekend we took a couple of days off from school, drove down to Orange County, celebrated two college graduations, and relaxed! One of the most unique experiences of that weekend was going to the dog beach at Huntington Beach with my mom, Jeremiah, Charlene and the puppies, and after almost being blown away by the wind, I dragged Sandy to the ocean and realized that she didn't like it very much! So, we spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out on the beach towel and letting our dogs play with all the other dogs that came around (Sandy thought this part was pretty eventful!) .
