6-18-6-19

We started off this week with a trip to the gorgeous Cerritos Library - there's a really neat childrens section there with lots of stimulating areas for Ellie to enjoy - with gigantic trees, an enormous aquarium to look at, a bridge to walk/crawl on, a lighthouse to read inside of, dinosaur sculptures, and bubbles inside a tank, we enjoyed our time together!
After a nice picnic lunch on the grounds outside the library, we traveled across the street to Heritage Park It is set up like the Boston Harbor during the American Revolution - with a statue of Paul Revere at the entrance to this magnificent playground island - full of walkways, ducks swimming, playgrounds inside of buildings, a tunnel slide that goes indoors and out, a pirate ship and row boat to sit in, and so much more! Ellie enjoyed looking at it all, and we can't wait for her to be able to enjoy it thoroughly through the years... can't believe I'd never seen it before - it's practically in my parent's backyard!

Lastly, for my birthday, Jeremiah bought tickets to see this awesome Cirque Du Soleil production of Iris at the Kodak Theater. My mom watched Ellie, and Jeremiah and I enjoyed our picnic-style dinner in the car on the way to the theater while we sat in LA traffic...Neither one of us had ever seen Cirque Du Soleil before, and it was such an incredible night! Felt like I was in a dream. Can't wait to see them again sometime - there was just so much to take in!
