Ellie turned 7 months yesterday, and today when she was on the floor of our kitchen, she actually crawled (army style) to get a new toy that I placed on the floor! I've been putting her down on the floor for awhile now to see what she would do, and lately she has been going from a sitting position to an attempted crawling position - but then she's been collapsing (and usually gets frustrated). The last few days, however, I have noticed that she's been walking backwards a whole lot in the walker, and I've noticed that she's been able to go around in a circle while on all fours, and today she went forward for the first time (the last two videos show this...she loves my cell phone - so I knew that I'd get results for the camera if I let her crawl to it...)
Ellie has become quite fun at night now... she plays in her room with various toys, and we try to read her a story (and she almost always reaches for the book to either eat it or play with the pages. She actually looks like she is reading here! That's what happens when both parents are teachers...
She also enjoys playing with my water bottle. She knows how to get water from all of my water bottles all by herself, yet she needs help getting water out of her sippy cups - so strange :)
Bath time has become very fun now too since she can sit up all by herself! The letters, numbers and squares with pictures and words on them stick to the sides of the outer tub when they are wet - so sure enough, Ellie is learning her alphabet, numbers and words!
She loves putting a toy in her mouth and then playing with other toys while the one toy remains hanging there!
I like playing peek-a-boo with Ellie - I try to play it often when I have to walk out of the room for a moment so that she doesn't feel like I've completely disappeared... and whenever I come back in the room, she smiles this huge smile and giggles - the picture above is her immediate reaction to my return!
She's always having Soooooooooooooo much fun now! Always happy and playing with her toys.
She loves to play with her pacifier - and it seems that whenever she puts it in her mouth, it goes in upside-down - every single time! She doesn't seem to mind...
Ellie seems to have adjusted well to Lori and her family - including their dogs! This is Kennedy, and their other dog is named Stella. Kennedy is quite protective of Ellie - he jumped up and barked at me the other day when I picked Ellie up to take her home!
Last night, I put Ellie back into her rainforest seat. For some reason, we haven't placed her in there very recently. She liked it very much. I found a picture of her in the seat when she was 2 months old - and it's amazing to me to see how much more she fills up the seat now - she's so much shorter in the picture on the right - look where her head falls!
And now for her fantastic new milestone accomplishment!!!! - filmed today - 8-23-12 - 7 months and 1 day old!
