Happy New Year 2011!

Jeremiah and I went down to Orange County this holiday season to celebrate with our family and to see some of our friends. Our time down there was wonderful, and we are so thankful that Jer's grandmother did not have any permanent damage done to her when she slipped on the ground on Christmas Eve! ... Though it gave us all a scare for sure. We loved seeing the Narnia movie, and spending time with Charlene who is now officially accepted into her top two colleges - YEA! We're hoping for Colorado so we can go skiing there with her on our vacations :) We also had a great time with our friends Kristin, Robert, Nancy and Chris, and James and Kari.

Christmas lunch/dinner was delicious, and so were all of our other eating outings - I felt that's all we did this break - eat, eat, and eat! But then, isn't that what we do on ALL of our vacations - maybe the scale wasn't lying... :( But it all tastes sooooooooo good!

I was especially proud of finishing another scrapbook - I have given Jeremiah a scrapbook present for our anniversary every single year that we've known each other. There is only one, our fifth yearalbum, that wasn't handmade, but all of the others have been, including this past one, our 6th year scrapbook - we can't believe how long we've been together! We love looking through our albums and reminiscing about all the fun times we've had!

When we arrived back to Porterville, we got together with a couple of our friends for New Years, though I wasn't feeling so great, so we didn't quite make it till midnight ... but we saw the NYC ball fall while falling asleep in our cozy bedroom - I sort of remember it, though the Nyquil made it all feel like a dream... I slept through almost the entire next day! But by Sunday, I felt good enough to go to our friend Rebekkah's son's 5th birthday party- and I took some pictures - We just fell in love with the creativeness of this army cake - Rebekkah and her sister made and designed this cake all by themselves - and it tasted amazing! The other pictures show Evan and his dad, Mike, and Jacob (the birthday boy - who is holding the super cool dino shirt we got him - Jeremiah really wanted one for himself!) and his mom, Rebekkah.

In two days, we are off to Yosemite National Park where Jeremiah has booked a winter wonderland skiing/snowboarding/tubing/iceskating excursion for us! This was my Christmas present from him, and he presented it to me by giving me a box of snow chains in a gift bag!We bought all of our snow supplies, so we are all set and ready to go! We'll be sure to post all of our beautiful pictures - and we're looking forward to truly testing out our 4-wheel drive!!
