10-4-10-13 - Music & Toys

My favorite part of this week was watching Ellie when we took her to see Porterville High School's choir concert last Friday night. I wasn't quite sure how she would react and whether or not she would be quiet.Jeremiah and I decided to stand up on the left aisle of the audience area and carry her - good decision - Ellie couldn't take her eyes off the singers once they began to sing - it was quite something. I just know that Ellie will be very musical...

Daddy's favorite part of Ellie so far is that she is "so calm and she is always so loving".

A little bit about her developments this week... we're noticing that she is scared of certain things now that she never was before. For example, she'll crawl away from the vacuum cleaner and she doesn't like the tub faucet anymore - and she used to LOVE watching the water fall. Now she practically jumps in my arms when it is turned on!

She is also starting to talk a lot more now - and her sounds are beginning to sound more and more like words... and she likes to "sing" along with me or her music box. She'll imitate sounds when I sing to her, it's amazing.

For my mom's birthday last week, my parents surprised us and drove into Bakersfield where we all got to spend the day together - it was AWESOME!

And Ellie fell asleep laying down in her stroller for the first time!
We had a delicious dinner at PF Changs - and Ellie fell asleep...again :)
This week the cooler weather came in and for the first time, Ellie wore a long sleeved shirt and pants...the last time the weather was cool, she mainly wore sleep and plays - now she really is starting to look like a little girl!

Our days are not complete with some Daddy-Ellie bonding time!

LOVE this picture above!

At Bible Study on Thursday, Ellie played with blocks for the first time... she took them all out of the box -over and over again!
Lore introduced Ellie to a new toy ... and Ellie is...um...thrilled :)
