Ellie had a chance to go swimming for her very first time yesterday (June 7th) and did really well! We were together with our bible study friends on our once a month Thursday night social. I finally got some pictures with the other two moms and their babies all together!
Ellie didn't really react much to the water, but she seemed rather content. I kept getting more and more of her body wet and she definitely liked it! Unfortunately what I failed to think about was that her circulation system is different than my own... so even though she didn't make a peep, about 20 some minutes into pool time, we noticed that her feet had turned blue! It was really scary, but we bundled her up really well and all was fine. Thank God. Guess we can attribute it to the fact that it was night time so the water temperature matched the air outside - it was a bit breezy out. Also, Ellie was practicing her new standing skill, and instead of kicking her feet, she just kinda stood on the steps! Next time we'll keep her in for a shorter amount of time and check on her more for sure!
Left to Right: Me and Ellie, Diana and Jaden, Annie and Annabelle - our Bible Study Mommies!
No wonder the float is designed for babies 9 months and up - Ellie didn't have the strength to hold onto the float herself! I only kept her in there for a few minutes because it was kinda hard to hold onto her while in it! But again, not a peep!
And out she went! (The blue feet definitely tired her out! )
These next pics are from today... she fell asleep kissing her bunny!!!
My friend Grace made me these amazing chocolate / mint cupcakes for my birthday!
We went to our annual choir party tonight which was so much fun - these two wonderful women, Kristie and Sabrina, make up my trio group at church - in fact, we are singing a trio together this coming Sunday!
Unfortunately in the video below, I'm not sitting in too glamorously, but that's why this blog is about Ellie, not really me :) We just had to catch Ellie's first moment in a pool! (so just watch her!)
