Pre-Wire Surround Sound
Last night our friend Aaron came by the home to help put up pre-wire for a surround sound system... we don't have the speakers yet, but at least we know that one day, when we want them, the wires are there! I took this picture of the home while the sun was setting... it looks so pretty! Below, Jacob, Aaron's son, is playing on the mound of dirt next to the home :)Roof & Siding!

Doors & Electrical!
We were excited to see that our outside doors were now put in (they will eventually be painted black) and the electrical is all up!...including the can lights in the kitchen! The window above the door is in the correct spot now too (instead of on the floor of the 4th bedroom/den! We see the sheet rock is in the house too...but before any of that goes up, we have a walk through on Thursday to double check things.
We're glad to see that some birds have decided to make their home in our house now! And they even have a bathtub to swim in if they'd like - now officially moved from our garage to the hall bathroom!

San Luis Obisbo Spring Break Vacation!

This past week was our Spring break, so we took a journey away from Porterville and our home and enjoyed spending time with our friends Rebekah and Aaron on the central CA coast! We stayed at the most adorable bed & breakfast ever - European style! It was located in the heart of downtown SLO, so we were able to easily walk to all of the cute shops that the town has to offer. The food and wine was delicious, and the rooms were quaint and bright. The only negative part was the ceiling fan in our room...it made so much noise when turned on that we couldn't sleep...and since there was no air conditioning, we found the 'bed' part of the hotel a little frustrating!
We visited Hearst Castle, and although we'd been before, we took a different tour this time - the garden & wine cellar. We loved it, and Rebekah and I were quite entertained at how well our cameras could take pictures of all the pretty flowers...see below! :)
Perhaps one of our favorite parts of the trip was going to a yummy seafood restaurant in Pismo Beach - about 10 minutes from the hotel. We literally had a bucket of seafood tossed on our table (we could choose 3 different types - we had wild shrimp, lobster and crab), and we were able to eat like animals :) Another favorite part of the trip for me and Rebekah was watching our two husbands eat a chocolate covered worm... ewwwwwww!

Trimming, Windows, Fireplace & Air Conditioning!
They've got the trimming painted, they've got windows in, the 4th bedroom is all fixed (door is in the right place, and the closet is now the correct size), the fireplace is in, the air conditioning system seems all set up, and the hall bathroom bathtub is here...well, it's sitting in the middle of our garage! :)

13. The 4th bedroom door is now correct :) - it's on the corner instead of the side wall - will give us much more space for furniture!
